Fashions and Outfits, Fads and Beliefs

August 18, 2015 by Sam Williamson

When I was ten years old, bell-bottoms flooded the fashion world like a tsunami. They were everywhere, but my mother wouldn’t let me wear them. Her …

When Good Advice Boomerangs

July 14, 2015 by Sam Williamson

Over the last month or so, I have heard of, witnessed, and (sadly) perpetrated several damaging acts of offering advice, examples where the counsel …

Shame is Nothing to be Ashamed of

March 17, 2015 by Sam Williamson

Popular, secular therapy proclaims the evils of shame. It’s wrong. Sure, shame is misused and abused, but deep-shame—deep shame alone—offers our only …

The Self-Love Trap

March 3, 2015 by Sam Williamson

I’m a Jargon Curmudgeon

January 13, 2015 by Sam Williamson

I write Beliefs of the Heart to grow our intimacy with God, to help us all examine our deepest heart-beliefs. I am an orthodox believer, meaning my theology is consistent with Christian beliefs through the centuries. In fact, I believe that our current cultural moment clouds our beliefs, so we must continually examine our current,

fashionable beliefs–which are often unquestioned–in light of scriptural truth. I live in Brooklyn, MI, USA, with my wife. We have four grown children and an ever increasing number of grandchildren.
